It has been a generation back, say about 30 years when I passed out from my school to face the brave new world of college. I was in New Delhi then, it was the year 1988. My percentage was not even worthy enough to get me in arts or humanities in any good college in Delhi University, forget about Science.
My parents wanted me to Engineer or a doctor, well these were the only two fields they can think about. I got 62% in my school with just 50 in maths. So what are you going to do cried my parents as they all do? All their dreams were shattered. As for me, I did not have time to make my dreams or to think about them. Frankly, I did not have any dreams. I don’t know, but it never clicked to make a dream for myself. Always it was my Parent’ dream of what I should be or what my future should be like.
So again I will have to struggle in my life. Life is a struggle they say, I knew what it meant.
It was now, just a few weeks ago now at the age of 50 when I read about these career link education Institutes Certc ( Career education research and training council) and Margdarshak. Both these organizations are located in New Delhi and claim to provide career linked education to the students and job seekers with of course at a certain payment. it was Rs 18,000 a hefty amount.
The first thought that came to my mind was it was another of those organizations that take you for a ride. There was a job offer here but with the conditions of making payment, passing tests( 15 Theory Plus 15 Activity plus 15 Practical), and then the final offer. The whole process was time bound in just 3 months. Then I gave it a second look, went through their website, and then something clicked.
Both of these were government organizations. A very important factor in India. Secondly, their mission and vision had a very powerful appeal to me.
